What do I need to visit my marine in Okinawa?

I'm going to Japan this summer to visit my marine. I'm staying at the hotel on base. I just wanted to know if anyone has been a visitor to MCAS Futenma before and if you can give me a little insight about what to expect. Oh and if anyone knows of any beaches or sight seeing or just any fun things that I could to do to occupy my time while he's working, that would be awesome too! Thanks so much in advance you guys <3
