When the mower quits check the spark right away before it cools down. If you don't have spark you probably have a coil issue. It is typical for them to fail when hot and work when cool. But, check for spark first, don't just run down and buy an new one. Shops are funny about taking electrical parts back. Also a good repair shop can test your coil.
