Is Teixeira really worth that much more than a player like Jason Bay?

Absolutely not. Teixera is an excellent all around player a great fielder a great power hitter and a pretty clutch player. Most of all he seems like a good team player. However, he is extremely overrated. He only got 1 MVP vote last year. 1 point! That is pretty pathetic and is not worth 25 million for the next 8 years. Not that I'm a fan of A-rod, but to put his salary anywhere near A-Rod's is a joke. Tex is a good player but nowhere near Hall-of-Fame caliber not even to mention one of the greatest of all time.
