HELP!!!!!!!! Should I cut my best friend off?

My best friend and I have been friends for about 6 years. She is 18 and I am 19. She has a son who will be a year old this June. Recently I have wanted to stop hanging with her because I feel that our lives are going in two different directions. I am in college and working and she is chasing boys who don’t want her, and is a proud welfare recipient. I’m not trying to sound harsh or judgmental but she doesn’t want to work or go to school she said out of her own mouth that she just wants to collect welfare (free food, money every month etc….). She has no goals and is not doing anything to better herself, she doesn’t even want to learn to drive she wants me to drive her everywhere in my car and doesn’t even offer to give me gas money! Her parents gave her a deadline to find a job but she isn’t even looking for one! The only reason I have stayed friends with her is because when she got pregnant everyone else stopped hanging with her and I was her only friend left. My parents use to love her like their own daughter but their feelings have changed because she is starting to use me and she abuses our friendship. She only comes to visit me when her son’s father wants nothing to do with her and when she does come see me she either comes over to eat, or to ask me to drive her somewhere. my mother told me that I need to start hanging with people who are on the same level as me because my best friend isn’t doing anything but holding me back and I agree because she will pop up unannounced when she knows that I need to study or do homework. I lost a lot of respect for her when she admitted to me that she got pregnant on purpose to keep the guy and she treats the poor baby badly. So should I just cut her off?
