Do you folks need to be reminded that America is far from being doomed?

Yes, I believe Americans every now and then need to be reminded that this "America is descending into a screaming vortex of snail sputum" that pervades everything from Glenn Beck to Charlie Rose is false. America's willingness to welcome people the world over, its ability to reinvent itself, her deep desire to be a force of good in the world, and the guts to wear its problems and scars on its sleeve ures greatness for a good deal longer.
